Archive of Visual Arts

As the research arm of the University of Arizona Museum of Art, the Archive of Visual Arts collects and preserves artists’ materials, enabling insights into their motivations and inspiration.

Established with a founding collection from preeminent space artist Robert McCall, the AVA facilitates the preservation and research of materials that document and contribute to the success of an individual artist. These materials include sketchbooks, diaries, business and personal correspondence, technical data, slides, photographs, videos and other ephemera.
